HVAC 101 — Introduction & Safety

Students learn key qualities for success in HVAC careers, essential safety training, ladders, lifts, scaffolds, confined space safety, back and fall protection, hazard communication, SDS sheets, fire extinguishers, and Lockout/Tagout.

Hours: 10 lecture hours + 14 lab hours / 24 total hours

HVAC 102 — Fundamentals & EPA 608 Preparation

Students learn HVAC vocabulary, thermodynamics, BTUs, pressure-temperature relationships, and recycle, recover, and reclaim concepts as part of EPA 608 preparation.

Hours: 10 lecture hours + 14 lab hours / 24 total hours

HVAC 103 — Refrigeration & Heat Exchangers

This section covers refrigeration cycle physics, condensation, evaporation, expansion devices, heat exchangers, types of AC systems, and hands-on lab activities.

HVAC 104 — Electrical Basics

Students learn basic electrical theory, series circuits, parallel circuits, ladder circuits, multimeter usage, testing electrical components, motors, and safety devices.

This section covers combustion basics, types of gas-heating equipment, troubleshooting the heat cycle, efficiency standards, and troubleshooting techniques.
